SoundLog Pro 2 - SLP to SoundMiner

SoundLog Pro 2 > SLP to SoundMiner

To convert your SLP2 records to SoundMiner do the following steps:

1) *IMPORTANT! In SoundMiner, perform a Create a Database (this should be under SoundMiner's "File" menu), to build a database with all the sound file info.
2) In SLP2, it is HIGHLY recommended to Catalog your drives, to be sure you have the correct paths to export to SoundMiner.
3) In SLP2, do a Find, for the records you want to export to SoundMiner. (You can also just do a Find All (Command J). Extra records should be ignored by SoundMiner.)
4) In SLP2, under the Scripts menu, choose Export/Share Records....
5) For the exported file, choose Tab Separated Text, as the Type of output format, as seen below:

6) In SoundMiner, select the database you want to bring your descriptions into (this should be the same as the database you created in step 1).

7) In SoundMiner, perform a Merge function in the CLI (see SoundMiner documentation), and select the text file you exported above.

8) Align your fields as seen below:

(Note - More information gets exported than SoundMiner needs for the merge, and you'll want to leave any Hard Sound File Data, like Sample Rate, Bit depth, length, etc., as SoundMiner scanned it in.)
