Pro 2 > The Buttons
The
button layout as seen on the Browser page.

Most
of the referenced settings (in the descriptions below), to the preferences,
are fully explained on the preference pages in SoundLog Pro
itself.
Create Sound File Name - Use
these buttons to create new sound file names using SoundLog Pro, and then
launch your main audio application (where you paste the newly created
name onto your sound file). The Green one is for Multichannel files, and
the Blue one for Mono files (works the same as MultiChannel, just adds
a ".M" to the end of the file name.)
The
2 smaller buttons are new to SLP2, and launch a secondary application
to paste the name into (selectable in the preferences tab.)
Click
HERE for the
SLP1 tutorial on creating new sound file names. It's still the same procedure.

Import
files into Pro Tools (or your main audio app) - Import
a single audio file with the large button, or the checkbox button on top,
will find all the tagged records in your database, and import those audio
files into your audio app.
There are 2 modes for importing:
1)
Reference original - if the buttons are YELLOW, as you see here, you're
in reference original mode. Your audio app will attempt to open the files
from their current location on disk.
2) Copy Files
and import - if the buttons are RED, then SoundLog Pro will copy the audio
files to your "Target folder",
selectable on the preferences tab, "Import" page.

Duplicate
Record - Simply
duplicates the current record, with an empty file name, so you can use
SoundLog Pro to make a new file name for another file.
TIP - Hold down <Command> when you click this,
to link the new record to the original one. You can then easily find records
that are linked together, simply by clicking the link icon you see in
the record.

Fix
Path - Use
this to repair the path for the current record. (Similar to Cataloging,
but only for one record.)

Alt
Apps -
Simply click one of these buttons to open the current record's file in
an app of your choice.
To set up your apps, click in the "Creator Type" field above
the button, then navigate to the application, or to a file SAVED BY that
application, to set it.
*Note - the icons you see here are just an example, you can customize
these icons yourself on the preferences page/tab. Selecting the application
does NOT import that application's icon. This must be done manually.

Reveal
File in Finder - Click
this button to select & show the current file in the Finder.
*Note - In SLP2, there is a better way to do this, which is to click on
the Online, or Server indicator, directly.

Copy
Sound File Name - Copies
the current record's Sound File Name to the clipboard.

Rename
Sound File - Renames
the current file (even Multichannel), in the Finder, and updates SoundLog
Pro.
You can select whether this will use the SoundLog Pro naming scheme, or
not, at the preferences tab.
*IMPORTANT - You MUST use
SoundLog Pro to rename your files at the FInder level, or your records
will no longer be catalogable. SoundLog Pro is File Name based, so if
you change the file's name in the Finder, but don't update SoundLog Pro
with that name, it won't be able to update the path in a Catalog.

Copy
Files - Copies
the current record's audio file(s), to a folder. the Check box button
on top, finds all the tagged records in your database, and copies those
files to a folder.
There are 2 modes (selectable in the preferences tab):
1) If the button shows a question mark (as above), then you will be prompted
for the folder to copy to.
2) If the buttons shows a folder instead of the question mark, the files
will be copied to the folder you have chosen in the Finder Copy
preferences.
